vivariums.net provides an online CoreWar simulation environment, including:

  • An interactive Academy with guided tutorials for learning Redcode programming
  • A Laboratory for writing, testing, and competing with Redcode warriors
  • Educational reference materials about the CoreWar programming game

All Services are provided free of charge and are supported by advertising.

CoreWar and Redcode

CoreWar is a public domain programming game originally proposed by A.K. Dewdney in 1984. The Redcode language specification and standard warriors (Imp, Dwarf, etc.) are part of the public domain CoreWar community knowledge base.

User-Created Warriors

Any warrior code you create using our Laboratory remains your intellectual property. We do not claim ownership of user-generated content.
